Do you love to have smooth kissable lips!?! Me too :) I'm going to tell you how simple is it to make your own sugar lip scrub for a fraction of the cost.
I love me some Lush products and there are a few that I have a slight obsession with and buy on repeat. Lush's Bubblegum lip scrub used to be one of them, but not anymore. Theirs is on the left in the pic and my DIY version is on the right. They're almost identical in looks and performance.
What you'll need:
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (granulated)
- 1/2 teaspoon olive oil (I used extra virgin)
- 1 drop of extract (lemon and peppermint essential oils are my fav's which I always have on hand to use with my diffuser bracelets and earrings, but if you want to get fun scents like watermelon and bubblegum, check your local craft store or online.
- 1 drop of food color if you'd like but not necessary (I would suggest picking something like pink or a light color because this could potentially stain your lips for a short period).
Just mix your ingredients together and voila! It's really that simple.
There are many Lush products that we probably couldn't re-create if we wanted to, but this isn't one of them! And you likely have most or all of the ingredients at home already. I keep a jar of this in my bathroom mirror and use it once or twice/week, after I wash my face at night.
